Spent two weeks in Ranong, Thailand, filming this project with Gong, a local coffee farmer with over 200,000 followers on Facebook. He is also responsible for creating a collective of farmers in Ranong, for better negotiating power with distributors. We drove all over the province in a van, woke up early for sunrises, wandered into the mountains, along the coast, and out onto small islands. Ranong is Thailand’s least populated province because of its heavy rainy season. It’s full of wild, natural spots and not many tourists. The last shot shows Gong on a longtail boat on the Kra Buri river, with Myanmar in the background. Shot as the first of a series, but this is the only one that made it online.
